3-0 WOOOOOOOOOO!!!....Sean Avery had a great game,he got the devils completely off their game from the get-go and especially in the third when they tried to go after him.Clarkson ragged doll avery around but Avery was smart as eh had no need to fight with the Rangers up 3-0 and Clarkson got kicked out of the game and the Rangers got the PP.Avery got 2 Mins for........I don't know.I suspect if he knew he was going to get a penalty he woul have fought.Besides Avery the Rangers played awesome,everyone played good,every single player except Wade Redden.Rangers move up to 89 pts and a 3 pt cushion on the Habs who are eight overall.

So tonight is the night Avery vs Blowdoor

for the first time as a Ranger since last april when Avery and the Rangers embarrassed Blwodoor and the devils knocking them out in 5 games and padding Farty with his worst playoff series ever.Tat was the famous series of course which led to the Avery rule and the series in which Avery called Blowdoor fatso and also called him out for not shaking his hand following defeat.
I for one would love to see Avery plow over Blowdoor and screen him again but neother will happen because of the new rule and because Avery will need to be careful with the refs.He is a target and you can be assured these refs will probably give him 2 mins for looking at Farty.Here is what Torts has to say about Avery vs the devils tonight

I do expect Avery and Clarkson to have a fight.But besides this the Ranger desperately need 2 pts with Montreal and the Panther right on their heels.

After the game against the Pens here's what some players and John Tortorella had to say about how Avery has been treated.Most are dead on.

Avery and the Rangers get screwed by the refs and lose 4-3 to the pens

I was so steamed from this game I couldn't even write about it right away.Just like the playoffs last season when the refs gave the Pens almost every break and every call,the same thing happened yesterday,the Pens had 9 PPs to the Rangers 3.Colton Orr was given a five min m ajor for interference,thats right interference and a game misconduct,I've never seen that call in my life.Avery was crosschecked from behind at least twice,hit behind the play once and punched in the face once and didn't get one call.These refs clearly have an agenda and its pretty obvious to me since everytime we play in Pittsburgh we end up shorthanded for almost a full period.The Penguins had 13:01 of power-play time during the game, while the Rangers had a man-advantage for only 5:56.Anways im still mad so here are Avery's stats

Great news thus far as Torts was a tough critic on Avery in the past,but with his play so far how can you not love him.I think Avery has opened some eyes around the league,I always knew from watching him that he was underrated as a player but now it seems others are starting to see it also.Many of his offensive skills are underrated,epsecially his skating where he excels.This is where he wants to be and where he's played his best,hope it keeps up.

IT'S one thing for a player to be shadowed on the ice by a checker, the way Jaromir Jagr was for a time by Jay Pandolfo, or Bobby Hull was by a pest named Bugsy Watson.
It's quite another thing, however, for a player to be shadowed on the ice by game officials, the way that Sean Avery has been by referees and linesmen alike throughout the first three games of his return to the Rangers. He is entitled to play his game without a referee or linesman in his face after every whistle, or whispering to him prior to faceoffs, or escorting him to the bench during stops in play. AMEN AND BRAVO!
The shit he is getting called for is unreal and the woest part is they let the same play go earlier in the game but then later they penalize Avery for it.

After playing mainly with Lauri Korpikoski and Ryan Callahan it appears that thursdat night Sean Avery may skate with Gomez and Zherdev.I like this move a lot cause Avery is a goos skater and he can keep up with Gomez.He and Gomez also showed some chemistry last season.Avery may also be able to open up room for Nik Zherdev.I look forward to this and hopefully a good game.

Took one bad penalty when the Rangers would have had a PP and then took one on the PP in front.The second one was BS,He basically fell into a player and knocked that player down and it was called.It wasn't even near the play,in fact the Canes had just cleared it. It took less than 20 seconds for fans to erupt into chants of AVERY! AVERY and he didn't dissappoint as on his first shift he landed a nice hit o PJ Axelsson. "You just want to get a hit in and get the nerves out," Avery said. "The earlier the better." Throughout the game he was heavily cheered and everytime he had the puck there was a a buzz.
