More Avery tidbits

It took less than 20 seconds for fans to erupt into chants of AVERY! AVERY and he didn't dissappoint as on his first shift he landed a nice hit o PJ Axelsson. "You just want to get a hit in and get the nerves out," Avery said. "The earlier the better." Throughout the game he was heavily cheered and everytime he had the puck there was a a buzz. "It felt good," Avery said. "Obviously, the two points feel really good, and then on a personal note, it just felt good to be at home playing for the fans."He later assisted on Ryan Callahans goal and when it was announced he got a louder cheer than Callahan. However he was called for a penalty with 1:22 remaining that was just a horrible call and one of reputation. "I didn't even look up," Avery said about spending the remainder of the game in the penalty box. "I just buried my head and was crossing my fingers."
Torts on Avery "I think he's been pretty effective. I think he's an outstanding skater, just the power that he has. He is really concentrating about trying to stay within himself," Tortorella said. "He has a lot of things buzzing around him. Sean needs to battle and keep his concentration and he can be a big part of this club if it stays that way."
